Is Terraria Cross-Platform?

Terraria has been available on all major gaming platforms, including Windows PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

However, crossplay in Terraria is limited to iOS and Android devices only.

However, players on the same type of console can join each other through backward compatibility.

For instance, players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S can join the same game as those on mobile.

This is also true for players on PlayStation 4 or 5. Those on Nintendo Switch can only connect with other Nintendo Switch users, as long as both have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Should Terraria’s developer, Re-Logic, announce crossplay for all platforms, we will update this information.

By default, Terraria does not support cross-platform play, but PC players can use mods to enable it.

One such mod is TShock, a Terraria server plugin that allows PC and mobile players to join the same game and play together.

How to Install TShock on Your Server?

  • If you’re playing Terraria on a PC, start by installing and setting up TShock on your server.

  • Then, download a plugin named Crossplay from its official GitHub page.

  • Go to your Terraria server’s FTP directory. Look for /ServerPlugins/ and Place the Crossplay.dll file in this plugins folder.

  • Next, reboot your Terraria server. Now, you should be able to play with both PC and mobile devices on the same server, as long as they are running the safe version of Terraria. This setup allows PC and mobile players to play together using mods.

How To Enable Crossplay On Mobile For Terraria?

Even though iOS and Android are different devices, playing Terraria on them together is simple.

You don’t need to do anything extra to join each other’s worlds. Players can connect with other mobile users by selecting “Multiplayer” from the game’s menu.
