Is Stardew Valley Cross-Platform?
Stardew Valley does not support cross-platform play, which means online multiplayer is limited to players on the same system.
To play together, all participants must be on the same platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, or PC.
Additionally, the player who initiates a multiplayer session saves the shared world locally, so others cannot access that world unless the host is present.
Will Stardew Valley be Crossplatform in Future?
Unfortunately, no current indication is that Stardew Valley will receive cross-platform support.
The game’s official Reddit page still confirms that crossplay is not available.
The developer briefly addressed this issue on Twitter in 2018, stating, “Unfortunately, there will not be crossplay. The technical challenges are very high.
It’s something I really want to add, and I promise to explore it further, but my top priority is to get the update out there.”
Since then, there have been no updates or new information on the possibility of cross-platform play, making it unlikely that this feature will be added to Stardew Valley.
Does Stardew Valley Support Cross-Save Function?
It’s important to note that Stardew Valley also lacks cross-save functionality, in addition to cross-platform play.
Save transfers are only supported between PC, Android, and iOS platforms.
Despite the game being available on many consoles, the inability to move save files between different platforms is a significant drawback.
