Mortal Kombat 11

Curious about whether Mortal Kombat 11 supports cross-platform play? You’re in good company!

This guide covers everything you need about crossplay and cross-progression features in this iconic fighting game. So read on to find out if Mortal Kombat 11 offers any crossplay options!

Is Mortal Kombat 11 Cross-Platform?

Yes, the game features crossplay, which provides varying levels of cross-platform interaction depending on your device.

Simply put, if you’re on a console, you can engage in Online Kasual game modes. Players using PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox One can join the same matchmaking pool.

Moreover, the crossplay feature also enables Xbox console players and PC gamers to face off in Mortal Kombat 11 matches.

While it may not be a perfect solution, it demonstrates that NetherRealm Studios recognizes the demand for cross-platform play.

We’re hopeful for further enhancements to the Krossplay feature in future updates!

How to Activate Crossplay?

Mortal Kombat 11 makes it straightforward to battle players on other platforms, thanks to its Krossplay feature.

To enable this, simply toggle the Krossplay option in the main Online menu, found in the Kasual modes section at the top-right of the screen.

Once activated, you can access the Krossplay Online Rooms, connect with friends and engage in matches with players on different consoles.

This feature ensures exciting and diverse fighting experiences, regardless of your platform.

Although the latest entry, Mortal Kombat 1, doesn’t offer crossplay, Mortal Kombat 11 allows you to enjoy cross-platform battles, making it a great choice for competitive fun.

Does Mortal Kombat 11 Support Cross-Progression?

Yes, limited cross-progression is available in Mortal Kombat 11 that only works within the same family of gaming platforms.

This means you can maintain your progress if switching between devices like PS4 and PS5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

However, if you switch from a PS4 to an Xbox One, you’ll lose all your rank and progress.

This limitation is similar to other fighting games, such as Street Fighter 6, that also lack cross-progression across different platform families.

Will Krossplay Receive Any Enhancements in the Future?

A solid understanding of Mortal Kombat 11’s Krossplay feature provides a decent level of cross-platform play.

However, the system isn’t flawless just yet. As NetherRealm Studios has shifted focus to Mortal Kombat 1, it’s unlikely that Mortal Kombat 11 will see further updates.

While crossplay for Mortal Kombat 1 isn’t currently available, there is potential for future updates to align it with the crossplay capabilities seen in Mortal Kombat 11.
