Is Grounded cross-platform?
Grounded is a thrilling experience, but teaming up with friends enhances the fun.
Sharing the game’s frightening moments can lighten the mood during intense situations.
Many players wonder if Grounded offers crossplay and cross-platform functionality, essential for modern multiplayer games.
Crossplay has become a standard feature for contemporary titles, allowing players on different consoles to connect.
Microsoft is particularly committed to this aspect in their multiplayer games.
If you’re eager to explore the backyard with friends, this post covers everything you need to know about Grounded’s crossplay and platform compatibility.
Is Grounded cross-platform?
Grounded allows for crossplay between Xbox and PC platforms. Players can join multiplayer sessions regardless of whether they use the Microsoft Store or Steam versions.
To play together, all participants must have an Xbox Live account.
Xbox and Microsoft Store users already possess this account, while Steam players must create one for free or sign in upon launching the game.
The player who hosts the game must add the Xbox Live accounts of their friends to their Friends List to invite them for multiplayer gameplay.
Multiplayer Capabilities
Grounded supports cooperative gameplay with up to four players from both Xbox and PC systems.
Players can engage in two worlds: Standard Worlds and Shared Worlds.
- Standard Worlds: These are regular game worlds hosted by one player. Access to these worlds is limited to when the host is online.
- Shared Worlds: These worlds are saved in the cloud and can be accessed by multiple players. This setup allows friends to host their multiplayer sessions even if the original player is not logged in.
Regardless of who hosts the game, all progress is saved. Players can also convert Standard Worlds into Shared Worlds, providing additional flexibility.
A Shared World can also be saved as a local Standard World for offline play.
Players can maintain up to three Shared Worlds at a time and can share up to 50 of these worlds with their friends.
This system enhances the gameplay experience, ensuring that friends can enjoy the adventure together, no matter their chosen platform.

About The Gameplay
In Grounded, the first death can come from a lawn mite, a tiny, harmless bug that surprises players with its determination.
This unexpected challenge sets the tone for the game. The second demise often results from dehydration, as players may become too captivated by the suburban environment to focus on finding water.
Instead of building a shelter, they might hide under the spawn point.
Grounded may appear cute, but it conceals a complex survival experience that is truly impressive.
